Brown Thrasher

I was delightfully startled by this Brown Thrasher (Toxostoma rufum) sitting on a nest. Normally considered fairly aggressive when nesting, I was cutting grape vine with a foot or two of this bird before I was aware of it as it finally hissed and jumped from the nest. This is easily one of my favorite birds of the Back Woods.
